Located within the urban planning district of Puzi City in Chiayi County, this residential development comprises six apartment buildings with a total of 129 residential units. Conceived as a contemporary urban housing community, the project aims to create a high-quality living environment that balances residential comfort, environmental quality, and community scale, establishing a new benchmark for future residential development in the Puzi area.

JYA Architects & Partners was responsible for the overall architectural planning and design integration of the project. From urban context and building massing to open spaces and residential unit configurations, the scheme reconsiders the relationship between emerging urban housing and contemporary daily life. Particular attention was given to the scale of the architecture and its relationship with the surrounding streetscape, with carefully planned building setbacks, natural lighting and ventilation strategies, landscape integration, and interconnected communal spaces contributing to an improved living environment and overall community quality.

The architectural language adopts a contemporary and restrained aesthetic, articulated through vertical framing elements, recessed balconies, and strong horizontal lines to establish a clear and balanced proportion. Variations in materiality and the interplay of light and shadow further contribute to a distinctive yet refined residential identity. The design also responds carefully to the climatic conditions of southern Taiwan, integrating shading strategies, natural ventilation, balcony planting, and environmental considerations suited to the high solar exposure and warm temperatures characteristic of Taiwan’s western coastal region.

Beyond the residential units themselves, the project places significant emphasis on communal living and neighbourhood interaction. Open pedestrian spaces, entrance landscapes, planted green corridors, and shared facility interfaces are thoughtfully integrated to foster a residential environment that is both urban in character and highly liveable in quality.

Through this project, JYA continues to explore the evolving role of collective housing within regional urban development, responding through architecture to the changing needs of contemporary living, community-oriented lifestyles, and the future of urban residential environments.
